Fixing a Tricky /S/

I just read this post from Putting Words Into Your Mouth, and I had to share!  It’s a trick to help children produce correct /s/ and /z/ sounds.  Mia describes using it specifically for a lateral /s/, but I’ve used this trick with dentalized /s/ as well.  The idea is that you tell the child to produce a long /t/ in order to produce a correct /s/.  If the child can make a correct /t/, they can make a correct /s/.  They just have to hold the /t/ longer!  The great thing about her post is that she has a great visual you can download for FREE!  Check it out!

Until next time,
